Registration for the INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment extended

Great news for all green thumbs out there! We are thrilled to announce that we have extended the registration deadline for our Citizen Science Experiment until the 15th of March 2024! This means you have even more time to join our vibrant community and be part of Europe’s bean community. Whether you are already an expert or just starting out, there is a place for you to connect, learn, and grow together.

We are delighted to share that we have already surpassed 5,200 registrations for the growing season in 2024! It is heartwarming to see such enthusiasm for our project. Among these registrations, 1,347 are continuing participants that now actively participate in the seed exchange, fostering a culture of sharing and growth. Among the new bean friends, the majority is from Italy, followed by Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden and France with over 100 new participants from each of these countries alone, showcasing that the concern for agrobiodiversity is universal.

Despite the deadline extension, we are excited to kick off this round of bean growing as planned on 1st of March 2020! This means we will begin distributing the beans to our already registered new bean friends and commence the SMTA phase. For our continuing participants, it is a green light to start growing their beans and documenting their growth whenever they like via the app.
